Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has taken a position on what many allege as an insult hurled on him by Bashir El-Rufai, the son of the immediate past governor of the state following revelations of the debt overhang inherited from the preceding administration.

GWG.ng reports that following his disclosure of the huge debt burden inherited from the El-Rufai government at a town hall meeting last weekend Bashir El-Rufai had launched a salvo against Governor Uba Sani describing him as running an incompetent government and abandoning the state and staying most of his time in Abuja.

However, responding to the salvo from Bello El-Rufai, Governor Uba Sani speaking through his spokesman told The PUNCH that the governor would not reply him.

However, when asked to react to Bashir’s claim,  the governor’s spokesman maintained that his principal had stated the obvious on the financial status of the state.

“The task ahead of us is enormous and we won’t trade that for trivialities. His Excellency Senator Uba Sani has categorically stated the true financial status of the state,” Shehu said.

GWG.ng reports that the stance of Bashir El-Rufai is different from that of his brother, Bello who has been conciliatory and vowed not to trigger a crisis between his father and Governor Uba Sani.
