El-Rufai Causes New Political Stir With Solidary Visit To Ningi (Pictures)
Despite the firm rebuttal by his steadfast media aide, Muyiwa Adekeye, the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has continued to raise storm by his gesticulations with the latest being a solidarity visit to Senator Abdul Ningi, the erstwhile chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, NSF.
GWG.ng reports that pictures on Friday evening showed Mallam, as El-Rufai is popularly called, paying a visit to Ningi and with it raising questions as to the political permutations in Northern Nigeria.
Ningi it would be recalled was suspended after initially querying the allocations to the North in the 2024 budget of the federation. He was believed to have done this based on his position as chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, NSF at that time. That was before many of his colleagues in the NSF disowned him.
The visit of Mallam El-Rufai to Ningi was being couched as a solidarity visit, underlying the fact that his troubles came upon him because of his stance on Northern Nigeria.
GWG.ng reports that before the visit on Friday that Mallam El-Rufai had an interaction with the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP which immediately stoked speculations of his imminent defection from the APC.
