A new twist to the obviously misconceived paternity fraud allegation raised against celebrated gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo emerged late on Wednesday when one of the men who raised the allegation, Okoronkwo Ejike apologised to her and equally adored gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey.

The apology game following the petition raised by lawyers to Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, the renowned gospel artiste who had also stepped forward to address the issue raised against him and Chinwo.

Meanwhile, GWG.ng reports that Okoronkwo Ejike has also deleted his facebook account as outrage against him spread him on social media.

In a video circulating on social media, three lawyers representing Bassey cautioned against spreading false information online and emphasized the seriousness of the matter.

GWG.ng reports that the accusations arose after claims surfaced suggesting that Pastor Nathaniel Bassey fathered the newborn child of Pastor Blessed and Mercy Chinwo. Reacting to the allegations, Bassey’s legal team expressed gratitude for the prompt action taken by the police in response to their petition to the Inspector General of Police.

The lawyers stressed the importance of conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the allegations. They urged social media users to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated rumors, emphasizing that the law does not recognize actions labeled as mere “cruise” online.
