Nigerian gospel music producer Dr. Roy David has cleared the controversy over alleged ill-treatment from gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo arising from his interview with Nedu Wazobia on the Honest Bunch.

Dr. Roy, known for his work behind many of Mercy’s hit gospel songs like “XX Love” and “Omekanaya,” stirred debates with certain remarks made during the interview regarding his experiences collaborating with Mercy Chinwo.

During the interview with Nedu, Dr. Roy recounted an incident where he sought assistance from a former collaborator when his father fell ill, only to be met with refusal. These remarks sparked controversies and raised eyebrows among fans and followers.

In a subsequent video shared on his social media platforms, Dr. Roy clarified that the individual he referenced in the viral clip was not Mercy but rather EeZee Concept, the owner of the record label where he and Mercy had previously worked together.

Dr. Roy also took the opportunity to highlight Mercy’s support during challenging times, emphasizing that she was among those who extended a helping hand when his father was ill. This clarification aims to provide context and dispel any misconceptions stemming from his initial remarks during the interview.
