Ukachukwu Wike attack

Nigerian political actors are in suspense as they wait for the response of Barrister Nyesom Wike, the minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT to the blistering verbal attack launched against him by billionaire real estate developer, Linus Ukachukwu.

GWG.ng reports that Ukachukwu had in response to the earlier allegations levelled against him and his brother, Prince Nichola Ukachukwu responded on Wednesday with a blistering attack unprecedented against Wike.

The media frenzy came after Wike ordered the demolition of part of the property owned by the Ukachukwu billionaires of Anambra State in the Asokoro area of Abuja.

He had dismissed the court injunctions raised by the Ukachukwu brothers alleging that of obtaining the title deeds wrongly.

The honourable minister in dismissing the court orders claimed by the Ukachukwu brothers said that “they think they are in PDP in Anambra state where they can produce court orders overnight.”

Responding to Wike on AIT on Wednesday, Chief Linus Ukachukwu accused him of not having an address outside the political arena, saying that Wike does not have the capacity to intimidate him.

Bristling with anger, Ukachukwu questioned the motive of the minister to ridicule his efforts saying that he received a national honour in 2003 for his efforts in developing Abuja at a time Wike was a local government chairman.

“As far back as 2003 I had a national honour as a result of what I had been doing in the housing sector in Abuja. In 2005 my brother had a similar honour.

“How can you call Linus Ukachukwu and Nichoas Ukachukwu land grabbers? We need a serious apology from Wike. Where was Wike in 2003 when a national honour was given to me as a result of developing Abuja? Where was he? Is it because of these fake opportunities that they have in the country that lead them to come on television and start harassing the citizens. When you talk of integrity we never go into shady deals,” he said.

Noting the involvement of Wike, Linus Ukachukwu said:

“Along the way, these Lebanese went to Wike and called for a meeting. My brother went for the meeting and in that meeting, Wike started intimidation, he didn’t even want my brother to talk, but Ukachukwus cannot be intimidated because Wike does not have address even to intimidate anybody.

“If he can intimidate, it is not me because I made my money through the grace of God and sweat. I never stole and I never worked for any government. In that meeting, he didn’t even want my brother to talk until my brother raised his voice and said you cannot bring me for a meeting and tell me that I cannot talk and that only my lawyer can talk.”

However, a senior official of the FCT administration said those expecting a response to the personal attacks on the minister may have to keep on waiting.

“There is no back and forth about it. The minister has said the side of the FCT and there is nothing to add to what he has said,” the FCT official told GWG.ng in response to the attack on Wike by Linus Ukachukwu
