JAMB on fake websites for UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigeria Police Force have issued a cautionary statement to candidates gearing up for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) regarding the use of fake websites.

This warning was delivered during a joint press conference held in Abuja on Saturday.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of fake websites established by dishonest individuals aiming to deceive JAMB/UTME candidates. Consequently, candidates are advised to be vigilant and cautious of these fraudulent tactics.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, noted the rise of numerous counterfeit websites crafted by deceitful individuals to mislead candidates. Therefore, candidates are urged to remain vigilant and cautious of such deceptive tactics.

Adejobi said these fake websites were designed to deceive innocent JAMB/UTME candidates into providing personal details such as registration numbers, email addresses, and phone numbers for malicious purposes.

“Both JAMB and the Nigeria Police Force condemn these fraudulent activities and hereby reiterate the readiness to safeguard the interests of candidates and maintain the integrity of the examination process.

“We urge parents, guardians, and all stakeholders to ensure that candidates print their UTME Notification Slips only from the Board’s approved website: www.jamb.gov.ng.
