Edo PDP leaders resignation

The gale of resignations from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State continued on Tuesday with two prominent local leaders of the party in the Central Senatorial District turning away from the ruling party.

GWG.ng reports that among those who resigned from the PDP were Hon (Barrister) Joe Eseigbe Airiohuodion, a former councillor who represented Ward 5 of Esan West Local Government Area of the state.

Besides him Mr Idialu Unuigbe aka Sonata also from the ward has also resigned. Unuigbe was reckoned as a very strong mobiliser in the area and was a former council chairmanship aspirant.

The resignation follows the gale of resignation that also saw PDP Legacy Leader in Edo Central and Governorship Aspirant, Hon. Felix Akhabue, JP, aka JOEFEL resign from the party.

Akhabue, a formidable political warhorse in the area was also a former national chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON.

A source told GWG.ng that more PDP leaders including some who are still working as appointees of the state government are also preparing to join the gale of resignations that has recently been the lot of the PDP in Edo State.

However, many of them have yet to indicate the next political direction they would be trudging ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
