JAMB Releases Additional 36,540 UTME Results
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released additional 36,540 UTME results, bringing the total number of results released to 1,879,437. This comes after the Board had earlier released 531 results, which were initially withheld for further investigation.
In a statement released by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board clarified that the results were not compromised, contrary to a fictitious letter circulating on social media. The letter, which claimed to be from JAMB, stated that the outstanding 2024 UTME results had been compromised due to a cyber-security breach. However, JAMB has denied this, stating that the letter was not signed by any authorized person and lacked the necessary credentials.
JAMB reiterated that the results of its 2024 UTME and previous years are secure and cannot be hacked. The Board is still investigating other results that were withheld due to suspected examination misconduct. This investigation includes reviewing footage from CCTV cameras at accredited centers to determine candidate culpability.
The Board urged the public to be wary of misleading information from unverified sources and clarified that minimum admissible scores are determined by individual institutions, not by JAMB. JAMB also advised religious organizations to focus on their primary roles, citing reports of some organizations making false representations to government for selfish ends.
With this release, candidates can now check their results on the JAMB website or at designated centers. The Board continues to ensure the integrity of its processes and maintain transparency in its operations.
