The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Police Inspector Aminu Muhammed for his alleged involvement in a series of robberies. Inspector Muhammed, stationed at the ‘C’ Division in Lokoja, the state capital, is accused of participating in robberies targeting residences near his duty post.

William Ayah, the police spokesperson in the state, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, noting that Inspector Muhammed has been detained and is currently in custody. The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Bertrand Onuoha, has ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations against Muhammed.

Inspector Muhammed’s arrest comes in the wake of police operations targeting a notorious gang known for robbing homes and stealing household items and cars across the state. The police crackdown led to the gang’s capture, revealing Muhammed’s involvement.

A member of the gang, already on the police wanted list for other crimes, confessed to the robberies and implicated Inspector Muhammed as the mastermind behind the criminal activities.

The Kogi State Police Command has reassured the public of their commitment to upholding the law and maintaining integrity within the force. They emphasized that any officer found guilty of misconduct will face the full extent of the law, reaffirming their dedication to law enforcement and community trust.
