Lagos Government Cracks Down on Illegal Shrines, Issues Stern Warning (Video)

The Lagos State government has taken decisive action against environmental offenders, demolishing an unauthorized shrine in the Iyana Ipaja area.

Located near a main road, the illegal structure was removed by a joint task force from the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.

Commissioner for Environmental and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab revealed that repeated warnings were ignored, and personnel faced physical assaults, prompting the demolition.

Wahab warned: “The Lagos State government will not tolerate environmental nuisances. Offenders will face prosecution.”
