Burna Boy Launches Football Academy In 3 Nigerian Cities
By Benjamin Abioye
Nigerian Afrobeat star Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has introduced a new football academy called the “Burna Boy Football Academy.” This academy has established training centers in three major Nigerian cities: Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.
The goal of the academy is to provide a space where young African players can develop their football skills while also focusing on education, discipline, and technique. This holistic approach is designed to help them succeed both in football and in life beyond the sport.
The academy’s website explains that the program caters to two age groups: 4-15 years and 16-21 years. Training sessions are held three times a week, with each session lasting for two hours.
Additionally, the academy has formed partnerships with several top football clubs. These include Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, and Brighton from the English Premier League, along with Watford from the Championship and Scottish clubs Hearts and Hamilton.
“We strive to engage parents in sports education, emphasizing its importance alongside academic pursuits,” the academy stated.
