Yul Edochie Reacts to Calls for Psquare Reconciliation: “Sometimes Peace Comes from Staying Apart”

Nollywood actor and controversial online pastor, Yul Edochie has weighed in on the ongoing discussions about the relationship between popular Nigerian singers and brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye of the Psquare group.

Responding to the numerous calls for the duo to reconcile, Edochie offered a different perspective, emphasizing that sometimes true peace can only be achieved by maintaining distance.

Taking to his Instagram page, Yul expressed his thoughts on the situation, stating that he often finds it amusing when people urge Peter and Paul to make peace without understanding the complexities of life. He suggested that, in some cases, the best way to achieve peace is by staying apart, even from family members.

Yul further elaborated that it’s sometimes necessary to block certain family members to protect one’s peace of mind. He noted that maintaining a relationship from a distance might be the healthiest option, as trying to force closeness can be detrimental. The actor and pastor emphasized the importance of being intentional about one’s life and well-being, stressing that “life na per head”—meaning everyone must take care of themselves individually.

“It’s good to see Psquare together,” Yul remarked. “But if they have to stay apart to be happy and alive for us, let them stay apart. We love them together, but being alive and happy is more important than being together.”

Yul’s comments come amid renewed tensions between the Okoye brothers, who have reportedly fallen out once again due to issues surrounding joint funds being diverted by their elder brother, Jude Okoye. In an interview, Paul Okoye recounted an incident in December 2023 when Peter allegedly got him and Jude arrested by the authorities. However, after a thorough investigation, Paul was cleared of all allegations.

In response to Paul’s claims, Peter took to social media on Monday to clarify his side of the story. He debunked the arrest claims, explaining that his petition was solely against their elder brother Jude, whom he accused of diverting their money into a secret account shared with his wife. Peter asserted that he never sought the arrest of his twin brother, Paul.

As the public continues to hope for a resolution between the Psquare brothers, Yul Edochie’s perspective adds a nuanced take on the situation, suggesting that sometimes, staying apart might be the healthiest path to peace and happiness.
