Ronaldo’s 900th CGoal Earns Guinness World Records Recognition
Guinness World Records recognized Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible achievement of scoring 900 career goals by joining the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate on social media.
They celebrated his feat with a simple GOAT emoji, further cementing Ronaldo’s legendary status in the world of football.
This milestone underscores Ronaldo’s dominance in both international and club football, putting him ahead of his long-time rival Lionel Messi and other top players. His impressive goal tally is a testament to his long-lasting excellence in the sport.
Guinness World Records responded to a BBC Sports tweet praising Ronaldo’s record-breaking accomplishment on X.com, saying, “900 career goals for Cristiano Ronaldo. Incredible. #BBCFootball.”
GWG.ng reports that Ronaldo reached his 900th career goal during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Croatia. The historic goal came in the 34th minute when Ronaldo volleyed a cross from Nuno Mendes, securing Portugal’s 2-1 victory. This achievement not only contributed to Portugal’s win but also marked a personal milestone for Ronaldo as one of the top goal-scorers in football history.
After the match, Ronaldo reflected on his accomplishment. He said via Fabrizio Romano, “900 goals seems like any other milestone, but only I know how hard it is to work every day to score your 900th goal. It is a unique milestone in my career. I do not break records… they haunt me!”
Lionel Messi remains the closest to Ronaldo, with a current tally of 838 goals for both club and country.
