Former Youth Minister Reacts After Being Sacked By Tinubu

Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, the former Minister of Youth Development, has restricted access to her Twitter account following her sack by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This move came shortly after the announcement of her removal, which formed part of a major cabinet reshuffle. Previously, Ibrahim’s account had been open to the public, but checks by GWG revealed it was now restricted, possibly to safeguard her privacy and limit unsolicited comments.

In a related development to the sack of Jamila Bio Ibrahim, President Tinubu promoted Ayodele Olawande, who served as the Minister of State for Youth Development, to replace Ibrahim as the substantive Minister of Youth Development.

President Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, saw the dismissal of six key ministers, marking a significant shake-up in his administration. Those relieved of their duties include:

Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs

Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism

Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education

Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development

Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development

Dr. Betta Edu, who was suspended as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs

Alongside these dismissals, President Tinubu also appointed new ministers, demonstrating his intention to reposition the administration. The newly appointed ministers are:

Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction

Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment

Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment

Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development

Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development

Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State, Education

This cabinet reshuffle, coupled with the promotion of Olawande, is seen as an attempt by President Tinubu to streamline his government’s operations and inject fresh energy into key ministries.
