Nollywood actress Regina Daniels recently shared insights into her marriage with billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, revealing that her family initially opposed their union.

During a TikTok live session with friends, Regina Daniels debunked rumors that she was forced into the marriage, emphasizing that the decision was entirely her own.

Daniels disclosed that she had over 20 boyfriends when she met Nwoko, and was actually on her way to visit one of them when she first encountered the billionaire. She used the opportunity to advise women not to let their current relationships hinder them from meeting their future spouses.

“I was going to visit my boyfriend, and I was so angry, like, ‘Mum, why do we all have to go sightseeing?’ But when we got there, I met a cute man. Moral of the story: Your boyfriend should not stop you from finding your husband,” she said.

She continued, “When I saw him with my husband, I forgot I was supposed to have a boyfriend. At that time, I had like 20 boyfriends, all serving different purposes. People think I had no choice or my mum forced me into marriage, not knowing that my mum and entire family were against it. One day, I’ll share our full story.”

GWG.ng reports that Regina’s marriage to Ned Nwoko in April 2019 made headlines, largely due to their 38-year age gap. Addressing the dynamics of their relationship, she described herself as “stubborn” and said she chose to marry an older man so she could learn to be more submissive.

Nwoko also refuted claims that he met Regina through her mother, asserting that they fell in love and got married within three weeks.

In May, the couple marked their fifth wedding anniversary with a celebratory photoshoot. Reflecting on their journey, Regina called the past five years remarkable and full of love, while Nwoko described the period as good and eventful, expressing optimism that they were just getting started.
