Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule, well-known in the Yoruba film industry, has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his first child.

In an interview with his colleague, Kunle Afod, Odule shared that the death of his child was the most sorrowful event in his life.

The 63-year-old actor described the tragic incident as incredibly difficult, especially due to the circumstances surrounding the child’s birth. Despite the pain, Odule said he accepted the loss as God’s will and prayed never to experience such a tragedy again.

He explained, “The saddest moment in my life was when I was told my first child died. It was very hard on me. It was hard because of the situation surrounding the child’s birth. It was very hard on me, but no one can question the authority of God. It was so bad, and I do not pray for such anymore.”

When speaking about his family and career, Odule revealed that his children have natural artistic talents. One has shown interest in acting, while another has a gift for singing. However, Odule emphasized the importance of education and said he would not allow his children to pursue acting until they have completed their studies and become independent.

He shared, “My children are naturally artistic. One of them has a talent for singing, while another shows potential in acting. However, I’ve made my passion for education clear to them, so they are currently more focused on their studies. I’m not sure if they may want to pursue acting in the future, but for now, I would not allow it. If any of them decides to act, it will have to wait until they have completed their education and become independent.”
