Sunday Omisakin, a man recently granted a state pardon by Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Facility for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing a television set valued at ₦600,000.

Omisakin had been pardoned on December 26, 2024, as part of the Odun State governor’s exercise of the prerogative of mercy, which freed him from serving time for a minor offense involving the theft of chicken. His name appeared as number eight on the official pardon list.

However, within just eight days of his release, Omisakin was arrested on January 3, 2025, after allegedly burgling a residence in Osogbo and making away with a high-value TV.

The suspect was subsequently arraigned before the Osun State Magistrate Court, Osogbo, on charges of burglary and theft. Presiding Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba ordered Omisakin’s remand at the Ilesa Correctional Facility pending further proceedings.
