Wife suspended Catholic priest secret marriage

Dora Chichah, the wife of suspended Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Daniel Okanatotor Oghenerukevwe, shared the story of how she met her husband.

The couple married on December 29, 2024, at the Stream of Joy Church in Dallas, USA. This was despite the fact that the priest had not been formally released from his canonical obligations by the Catholic Church.

Dora Chichah, a single mother of three, shared her testimony at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International Church. She spoke about her long journey of prayer for a life partner, which lasted over nine years. “What God cannot do does not exist. We dey pray, e dey show,” she said. She recalled that in 2020, she had been praying for a husband, believing that God would answer her prayers.

In her testimony, Dora shared how Pastor Jerry had prophesied in 2021 that God would lead her to her “wealthy place” and that her waiting time was building her character. “I kept praying. Anytime Pastor Jerry says women in their 30s, women in their 40s, receive your husband. I would dance and I would pray and I was believing God,” she added.

In 2024, Dora said she heard God clearly, directing her to relocate to Dallas, Texas. It was then that she reconnected with Daniel, whom she had known from her childhood. They quickly exchanged contact information, and their relationship developed rapidly.

Dora Chichah further revealed that their wedding was not secretive. Daniel had informed the Diocese about his decision and shared that he had been praying and fasting for discernment in his vocation. Dora also had been praying during this time. Within three months, they had completed marriage classes, the traditional wedding, the court marriage, and the white wedding at Streams of Joy Church.

Dora emphasized, “He did not do a secret marriage as he wrote to the Diocese to inform them of his decision.”
