By Benjamin Abioye

Nigerian singer Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington or Akpi, has taken to social media to demand ₦300 million in compensation from the Nigerian police for allegedly violating his human rights.
On Thursday, January 23, 2025, Speed Darlington shared a cryptic video on Instagram featuring two bulls in a confrontation. Captioning the video “I am back!”, he added a metaphorical explanation in the background, saying, “Two bulls fighting. One steps back. It’s not running away. It went back to gather energy and launch back with banger.”
In a follow-up post, the singer shared a picture of Mazi David Ihuoma, a legal practitioner, and expressed gratitude for his unwavering support in the ongoing case.
“This is Mazi David Ihuoma. One of my big lawyers who played a big role in my case and continued to play, his confidence is 10/10. Even the police attested to his confidence and his forceful way, always reminding them that the police are corrupt and they know it,” Speed Darlington wrote.
He accused the police of holding him against a court order and hinted at an upcoming legal battle with Ihuoma as part of his defense team. “Thank you Mazi David Ihuoma Esq. We going all the way! They must pay me for violating my human right 300 million naira. We will drag them more than Stanley and I dragged that bank that violated me two years ago,” he said.
The singer is adamant about holding the authorities accountable and ensuring justice is served in his case.
