Portable Ogun Government Crisis

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has taken to Instagram to celebrate his growing online presence. This came after his clash with the Ogun State government leading to his arraignment and eventual release on a N2m bail.

Portable shared a screenshot of his Instagram professional dashboard, revealing that he had received over 59 million views in the past 30 days. Excited about the achievement, he boasted about his influence, emphasizing that people only celebrate success. He also encouraged brands to reach out for bookings and endorsement deals.

“Akoi 50 million views. Them no dey celebrate failure. ZEHNATION. DM for shows, bookings, ambassadorship,” Portable wrote on his Instagram handle.

Earlier, he was granted bail for N2 million after being taken to court over multiple charges, including assault and possession of dangerous weapons. During his hearing at the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, he pleaded not guilty. The judge warned him not to discuss the case on social media, stating that violating this rule could lead to him losing his bail.

Portable’s post about his Instagram views sparked mixed reactions from fans and social media users. Some mocked him for celebrating views instead of show bookings, while others advised him to focus on music and rebuild his reputation. One user wrote, “You dey celebrate views now, not shows anymore. Nobody wan gree book you.” Another suggested, “Start apologizing to people you have wronged like OBO and Olamide. People need to know you are sorry.”

Others criticized his behavior, saying it had affected his career. One comment read, “Who wan give you show? You have damaged your brand beyond repair.” Another user added, “Out of those 59.3 million views, only 30 people genuinely love you. The rest just watch to see if the police have arrested you.”

Despite the backlash, Portable remains confident in his influence and continues to engage with his fans on various Nigeria news and social media including Instagram.
