Kudos, Knocks, As DESOPADEC Member, Egbo Inspects Projects
By GWG Metro Editor

Member representing Isoko ethnic extraction on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Victor Egbo has expressed mixed reactions to projects being undertaken by the intervention agency in Isoko land.
Following a tour of some of the projects being handled by the commission, Egbo hailed as Mr Projects by his admirers gave the kudos to some of the DESOPADEC contractors and at the same time knocked one of the contractors handling a school building who allegedly compromised on standards.
GWG.ng reports that the first port of call was the road project at the Mechanic village in Oleh where an obviously miffed Chief Egbo berated the DESOPADEC contractor for the poor job.
Displeased with the nature of the job, the member ordered the Contractor to go back to site immediately to have the anomalies rectified.
At St. Michael’s College, Chief Egbo also observed that the roofing sheets used for the building were refurbished, resulting in a very poor job.

The member eventually reached out to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor to invite the parties involved for questioning.
Interestingly, the contractor handling the Mechanic village road project, Kenoba Construction Company, is the same contractor handling this classroom renovation project at St. Michael’s College, Oleh.
Next was the first phase of the Urusewe/Iyama road under construction. The standard of the ongoing project so pleased Mr. Project that he showered praises on the contractor.
There was also the installation of a 300kva transformer at Odoro road which is to service Otio, Uzeva and Emeta streets respectively.
The first phase of the ongoing Ithirikpe street (150m) construction work at Idheze road was next to be inspected. Chief Egbo who was all praises for the quality of work done so far, encouraged the DESOPADEC contractor to keep it up.
