Lecturer Who Kicked Student To The Ground Suspended (Video)

The Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, Imo State, has suspended a facilitator, Mr. Okoroafor Ifeanyichukwu, following a viral video showing him physically assaulting a male student.
The disturbing footage, which surfaced online, captured Mr. Ifeanyichukwu slapping and kicking the student, identified as Chidera, causing him to fall hard on a cemented walkway before the lecturer walked away.
In response to the incident, the institution issued a suspension notice dated March 14, 2025, with reference number FPN/TEDC/80/1. The letter, signed by Dr. Okoye P.C., Director of the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (TEDC), stated that the suspension would remain in effect pending the outcome of an investigation.
“You are hereby suspended from duty as a facilitator in the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre pending the outcome of the investigation into the incident that occurred yesterday, 13th March 2025, at the site of your entrepreneurship training,” the notice read.

The suspension has been communicated to key stakeholders, including the Rector, the Dean of Student Affairs, and the Student Union Government.
As reactions continue to pour in, the Polytechnic has assured the public that a thorough inquiry will be conducted to determine the necessary disciplinary actions.
