Outrage Over Photo Of NYSC Member Kneeling Before Female LGI

A viral photo of a male National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member kneeling before his female Local Government Inspector (LGI) has created outrage, with many Nigerians condemning the act as an abuse of power and intimidation.
The controversial image of the corps member kneeling before his female NYSC LGI, shared on social media has raised many unanswered questions about the treatment of corps members in the scheme. Waltino, in his caption, hinted at the challenges corps members face, stating: “This is what we are passing through but if we talk now.”
Social media users have expressed strong reactions, questioning why a graduate should be subjected to such treatment. Many labeled the act as outright bullying, while others criticized the NYSC program, calling for urgent reforms.

The backlash follows another recent NYSC controversy involving a female corps member in Lagos, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, who criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over inflation and economic hardship. She alleged that the NYSC board threatened her after her comments went viral.
As the debate continues, the NYSC leadership is yet to address the growing concerns surrounding the treatment of corps members.
