Daniel Bwala Mocks Peter Obi, Calls Him A Failed Politician
By Gideon Ayeni

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, has taken a swipe at Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, branding him a failed politician who lacks an understanding of democracy.
Bwala’s criticism comes in response to Peter Obi’s comments at the 60th birthday colloquium of former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, held in Abuja on Monday.
During his speech, Obi lamented that Nigeria’s democracy had collapsed, stating that the progress made since the country’s return to civilian rule in 1999 had been eroded.
Reacting to Obi’s remarks in a post on his X handle on Tuesday, Bwala dismissed the former Anambra governor’s concerns, accusing him of having no history of democratic activism. He claimed that while others were fighting for democracy, Obi was merely engaged in business activities.
“It is funny how failed politicians are trying to redefine democracy. @PeterObi said democracy has collapsed. Does he even know the meaning of democracy?” Bwala wrote.
He further mocked Obi, saying: “When people were fighting for democracy, Gregory was buying and selling. He doesn’t have a history of any democratic activism from his school days to date. His expertise lies in instigating hate speech and vitriol. Talk is cheap.”
Bwala’s remarks have since sent the social media abuzz, with supporters and critics weighing in on the ongoing political debate.
