Exclusive: How Remi Tinubu Made 2027 Deal With Peter Obi

A proposal for Mr Peter Obi to replace Vice-President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 presidential election is being finalised under a covert plan reportedly worked out by the First Lady, Mrs Remi Tinubu.

Mrs Remi Tinubu according to sources in Abuja had been working on wooing Peter Obi through the wife of the former governor of Anambra State, Mrs Margaret Obi.

GWG.ng can, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, reveal that the plot, which is bound to upturn the country’s geopolitical permutations, aims to change the dynamics that had in the past seen a president and vice-president coming from the Northern and Southern sides of the country.

A source privy to the development, speaking early on Tuesday, April 1 revealed that Mrs Tinubu had been working round the clock in months to give her husband a calm ambience to implement the Renewed Hope Agenda he came with.

“Unknown to many people, the First Lady has been working behind the scenes using political connections she developed in her three terms in the Senate to forge a political arrangement that will allow her husband to transform the country.

“But as we all know, the principal antagonism to the Renewed Hope Agenda has come from these our brothers and sisters so called as Obidients. What the First Lady did was to navigate the sisterhood spirit with Margaret Obi to get through to her husband.

“Her plan is surprising given the fact that Mrs Margaret Obi is well-known not to have much influence on her husband’s politics. It is also surprising given that Mrs Remi Tinubu was also known to be close to Vice-President Shettima.”

The source, however, disclosed that she was able to work through the political permutations that presently see Shettima, NSA Nuhu Ribadu and one Northern governor as among the leading characters positioned to replace President Tinubu in 2031.
