How Bobrisky Pulled April Fool’s Arrest Joke On Nigerians
By Benjamin Abioye

Popular Nigerian cross-dresser, Bobrisky, has pulled off a classic April Fool’s prank, claiming he was arrested by Nigerian immigration officials.
The controversial figure took to Instagram on April 1, 2025, to share the news of his or her arrest, writing, “Guys, I have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o.” His post immediately caught the attention of fans, leaving them confused and concerned about the reasons behind his arrest.
But, as expected on April Fool’s Day, Bobrisky wasn’t serious. In a follow-up post, she or he quickly clarified that the arrest was all a joke. This playful prank came just a few months after Bobrisky revealed she or he had left Nigeria to focus on his mental health and well-being.
Back in November 2024, Bobrisky explained her or his reasons for leaving the country, which included dealing with the pressure from constant online criticism and personal struggles. He or she also shared how he or she had been arrested in April 2024 and sentenced to six months in prison for allegedly abusing the naira. That event, she or he said, had a major impact on his mental and physical health, prompting him to take a break abroad.
Earlier, Bobrisky had shared his reasons for relocating temporarily, saying, “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily… I need to attend to my sanity and my health. Few Nigerian security agencies try everything to frustrate me but naaa, I gat God.”
He also took to Instagram to share a funny story about his travel troubles, where he joked about buying business class tickets three times, but only using one. “Imagine buying a business class ticket 3 times, but only 1 was successful. @kIm I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. I know it’s not your fault, but it’s fine.”
Despite his playful antics, it’s clear that Bobrisky continues to enjoy his time away from the spotlight, mixing humor and personal experiences with his fans on social media.
