By Gideon Ayeni

The mother of a Nigerian boxer, Olanrewaju Success who tragically lost his life during a match in Ghana has made a public plea for justice. While alleging foul play, she has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the grieving mother claimed her son received a threatening message before the fight, warning him to withdraw for his opponent. However, he refused to back down.
According to her, the boxer dominated the first two rounds but suddenly lost the ability to lift his arm in the third, leading to his untimely demise.
Fighting back tears, she called on Tinubu to ensure her son’s death is thoroughly investigated and not swept under the rug.
“Daddy Tinubu, help me. I have only one son. His father died on June 12, 1993, and I have raised him alone. He received a message threatening him to step down for his opponent, but he refused. We read the message during the day, but by then, the fight had already happened overnight. He won the first two rounds but couldn’t lift his arm in the third. Please don’t let them cover this up. Help me,” she pleaded.
