Manchester United In Talks To Sign Victor Osimhen From Napoli

Napoli and Manchester United are reportedly in advanced talks regarding the potential transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Napoli are said to be considering a reduced offer for his release clause, which could make the deal more attractive to Manchester United.

Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, is currently in London to negotiate with Manchester United officials about the transfer of the 26-year-old striker. This move may allow Napoli to offer a better deal to United, potentially sidelining Juventus as a strong contender for Osimhen’s signature. Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, is expected to leave Napoli permanently this summer, after failed transfer attempts to Saudi Arabia and Chelsea in the past.

Osimhen’s release clause has been reduced to €75 million, but Napoli is reportedly open to negotiating a lower fee with Premier League clubs to avoid strengthening their direct Serie A rivals, particularly Juventus. Although Juventus has been in talks with Osimhen’s representatives and the striker is open to a move to the club, tensions between the two clubs could complicate the transfer process.

Manchester United, which has struggled with its attacking performance this season, scoring only 37 goals in 31 Premier League matches, is eager to boost its offensive options. Osimhen has been identified as their top target for the summer, and despite United’s current challenges and uncertainty about European football next season, the Nigerian striker is reportedly open to a move to Old Trafford.

Other clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, have also shown interest in Osimhen. While Chelsea has engaged with Manna, they are focused on securing Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. Arsenal has already submitted a bid, and United’s relationship with Napoli, forged through Scott McTominay’s transfer last summer, could help facilitate a smooth negotiation for Osimhen.

Osimhen has had an impressive season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 28 goals in 32 appearances, and is currently focused on helping the Turkish club succeed in both the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
