A Nigerian police officer has caused an uproar on social media after issuing a chilling warning to Nigerians.
In a statement that has raised alarm, the officer told viewers to be extremely cautious of him, hinting at severe consequences for those who cross his path. His words, filled with threats and aggression, have since gone viral, with many concerned about the lack of professionalism in the police force.
The officer made the disturbing comments in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), where he directly addressed the camera while holding a phone. In the footage, he said, “If you’re not careful, I’ll clear your fathers, I’ll clear your loud. Is that clear? If you do anyhow, I’ll checkmate you. I’ll finger-fuck your father’s head.” His tone was menacing, and his words left many viewers unsettled.
The officer then panned the camera to show several other police officers standing with him, all of whom appeared indifferent to his threatening remarks. This lack of response from his colleagues has only added to the outrage, raising questions about the culture within the police force and the absence of any accountability for such behavior.
The video has sparked an overwhelming backlash, with Nigerians flooding the comment section to express their concern. Many users criticized the officer’s conduct and the state of the police force in the country. One user, @4stdaugther, wrote, “These ones just graduate, another 20,000 dey start training today,” suggesting that the officer’s behavior could be a reflection of the type of recruits being brought into the force.
Another user, @Donaldsilver112, was quick to place blame on those responsible for recruitment, saying, “Who carry them enter police the person no checkmate them,” indicating that the problem lies not just with the officers, but with those who recruit them.
Other reactions were more scathing. @PAnazulda44964 commented, “If these ones enter my settings na flog we go flog dem,” expressing anger and frustration at the officer’s threatening behavior. Meanwhile, @xanders101 pointed out, “This is what you get when you recruit cultists & touts into the police force. Accidental discharge just started,” suggesting that such officers might bring more violence to the force.
Additionally, @SirCriix mockingly said, “See people wey I go beat one on one without guns,” referring to the officer’s lack of professionalism and discipline.
The disturbing video has ignited further discussions about the urgent need for reforms within the Nigerian police force. Nigerians are calling for better recruitment processes, accountability, and training to ensure that police officers are equipped to serve and protect the public with respect and professionalism.
