Grandson Comfort Omoge Killed Ondo

The grandson of the late African folklore music legend, Comfort Omoge, has tragically lost his life during a violent clash with a scavenger in Ondo State.

The victim, Ogoirawo Omoge, was reportedly attacked along the Ayeka/Igodan-Igbokoda highway in the Okitipupa Local Government Area. The disagreement, which began as a minor argument, quickly turned deadly when the scavenger pulled out a dagger and stabbed him in the throat. The attacker fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Ogoirawo was rushed to a nearby medical facility but sadly did not survive the injuries. He was confirmed dead shortly after arrival.

According to the police, a suspect connected to the killing has been arrested. “One suspect has been arrested and is currently being held in custody,” the police spokesperson confirmed.

In response to the incident, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Council, Andrew Ogunsakin, held a meeting with local leaders, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and members of the Hausa/Fulani community to calm the rising tension in the area.

Ogunsakin explained that the gathering helped strengthen the community’s commitment to peace and unity. He also revealed that through the cooperation of local residents and security agencies, a suspect named Machido Abubakar had been arrested.

He urged everyone to remain peaceful and follow the law. He also offered his sympathy to the grieving family and assured them of support in seeking justice.
