SDP National Chairman, Secretary Suspended For Alleged Misconduct
The Social Democratic Party, SDP, national executive council has suspended its national chairman,Dr Olu Ogunloye and its National Secretary Shehu Gabam for alleged misconduct.
They were suspended for allegedly disregarding part of the provisions of the SDP constitution, especially Article 12.5 (iv) 12.2.2 (viii) and also Article 9.4.
The party in its statement added that SDP’s deputy chairman, Adul Isaq, will immediately act as the interim chairman, while Simon Adesina steps in as the national secretary, pending the outcome of its convention.
The statement also read: “The NEC observed the wanton disregard to the provisions of the SDP constitution especially Article 12.5 (iv) 12.2.2 (viii) and Article 9.4 to suspend some executive officers from our party.

“The NEC considered the various abuses of the constitution by the following under-listed officers and decided by majority to suspend Shehu Gabam and Dr Olu Ogunloye.
“The NEC noted the urgency to put in place all that is required for a befitting party convention.”
The Party further moved the date of its national convention from April 27 to 29, 2022.
