Atiku’s Children Make History Serving In Successive Cabinets In Adamawa

The first son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Adamu Atiku was one of 23 commissioner nominees presented by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Wednesday.
After the four year stewardship of his daughter, Dr. Fatima Atiku Abubakar who served under the All Progressives Congress, APC administration of Governor Jibrilla Bindow the Atiku family is making history by having two siblings serve in successive state administrations under different political parties.
Governor Bindow who was backed by Atiku in the APC for his governorship aspiration on the platform of the APC in 2015 was defeated in his bid for a second term by Fintiri on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Fintiri a long time associate of Atiku’s was reportedly well backed by the former vice-president and the 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP.
Adamu Atiku who had before now been his father’s eyes in the family company Intels in Port-Harcourt, River State is entering politics formally for the first time after playing a major behind the scene role in his father’s 2019 presidential campaign.
Also in the 23 man list is Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, the state secretary of the PDP.
Prembe was nominated from Song, Adamu Atiku was nominated from Jada. A second nominee from from Jada is Aloysius Babadoke.
Chika LGA also has two nominees in the persons of Elijah Tumba and Ishaya Dabari.
Other nominees presented by the governor include Mohammed Umar (Madagali LGA), Sunday Matthew (Mubi North), Prof Isa Abdullahi (Mubi South), Hassan Kaigama (Maiha), Dr Umar Garba (Hong), Lami Patrick (Gombi), and Usman Diyajo (Girei).
Others are Umaru Daware (Fufore), Ibrahim Mijinyawa (Yola North), Mustapha Musa Jika (Yola South), Sanusi Farouk (Toungo), Bappa Isa (Ganye), Iliya James (Demsa), Sushi Khobe (Numan), Justina Nkom (Lamurde), and Shuaibu Audu (Mayo-Belwa).
