The New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe on Saturday got a major boost in his bid after Oil Producing Communities in Eket Senatorial District endorsed his ambition.
The endorsement from the communities led by Obong (Hon) Samuel Atang, Attah of Eket came in the course of interaction with the stakeholders.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that in the course of the interaction that the stakeholders made their demand for the establishment of an Oil Bearing Community Development Commission, which would be the equivalent of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
The demand which came among other demands, however, was quickly addressed by Senator Akpanudoedehe who told them that the creation of such a commission was already contained in his manifesto
The candidate urged the stakeholders to appraise themselves with his manifesto which he said contained the proposal among other intentions he has for the state.
Against the background of mutterings of marginalization, Akpanudoedehe responding to the address of the stakeholders read by Hon Bar Ekere said that creating such a board was the right thing to do for the people of Eket Senatorial District as he affirmed that a government under his leadership would be prompt to meet that desire and other genuine needs of the people.
Upon the interactions the Eket Senatorial District stakeholders gave a ringing endorsement to the aspiration of Akpanudoedehe for the governorship of Akwa Ibom State.
