Microsoft To Lay-Off Nearly 11,000 Employees
Amid the worldwide economic recession, tech giant Microsoft is reportedly planning to lay-off up to 11,000 employees this week.
Sky News reports that the move by the tech giant is in line with the global economic slump, noting that the corporation is “finalising plans to become the next technological behemoth to slash its employees.”
The corporation is thinking about laying off about 5% of its employees, “which, if correct, would translate to about 11,000 jobs.”
Before reporting its quarterly earnings the next week, the corporation is anticipated to make some laying off on Wednesday (US time).
Microsoft Corp. CEO Satya Nadella recently forewarned that the tech sector would face difficulties in the coming two years. He acknowledged that Microsoft wasn’t “immune to the global developments” in an interview with CNBC apparently foreshadowing the lay-off.
