Muslims in Plateau have commended Gov Caleb Mutfwang over what they described as fair appointments into the various public offices in the state.

Chairman of Plateau Muslim Ummah Forum, Mubarak Isa, who gave the commendation at a news conference on Thursday in Jos, dismissed the claims in some quarters that the governor hated Muslim faithful in the state.

Rather, he said that Mutfwang had displayed an uncommon spirit of oneness, unity and brotherliness his since assumption of office as governor.

The forum’s chairman further stated that the governor had, through the various appointments made so far, demonstrated his willingness to carry every citizen along, irrespective of tribe, religion or political inclination.

”The leadership of the Muslim Ummah forum in Plateau is here to pass a vote of confidence in the Gov. Caleb Mutfwang for his unprecedented achievements.

”The governor has shown that dividends of the democracy can reach the common man from his first day in office.

”We want to state categorically state that the governor is a unifier; this is seen in his balanced and all-inclusive appointments.

”With the ongoing renewal of urban infrastructure within the Muslim settlements in Jos, we want to use this opportunity to condemn and dissociate ourselves from the campaign of calumny and blackmail against the person of the governor,” he said.

Isa described those accusing the governor of working against the Muslim faithful as mischief makers who did not mean well for the state.

”Peddlers of this misleading narrative are actually on a dare-devil mission to cause confusion and stoke discord in the land to justify the efforts of their paymasters.

”The governor has appointed many Muslims into various positions in the state and that goes to show that he is a leader for all.

”The Muslim Ummah in Plateau are solidly with the governor and we pray that the Almighty Allah will continue to protect him as he leads Plateau out of its current woes,” he said.

Isa also called on Supreme Court justices to critically look into the appeal court judgment that nullified the election of governor with a view to reversing it. (NAN)
