Suspense As Presidency Confirms Cabinet Reshuffle

The Presidency has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is gearing up for a cabinet reshuffle, which may occur on or before October 1st.

The prospect of a cabinet reshuffle was shared during a press briefing at the State House on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy.

According to Onanuga, President Tinubu is keen on a cabinet reshuffle to enhance the performance of his administration. However, there is no fixed date for the shake-up. “The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet, and he will do it. Whether it happens before October 1st is uncertain, but he will surely do it. That’s all I can say for now, as there is no specific timeline,” Onanuga explained.

Alongside the potential cabinet reshuffle, President Tinubu has instructed his ministers to be more proactive in communicating the activities of their ministries. During the last Federal Executive Council meeting, Tinubu reportedly encouraged the ministers to actively engage with the media and share the achievements of his administration with the public.

Onanuga noted that many Nigerians are unaware of the progress being made due to a lack of communication from the ministries. “The President believes the government is doing a lot, but the message isn’t getting out. He has urged ministers to overcome their media shyness and speak more about the successes of their ministries. They need to go out and blow their own trumpet,” Onanuga said.

This call for greater transparency comes as Tinubu’s administration seeks to bridge the gap between government efforts and public perception. The President believes that by highlighting the administration’s accomplishments, they can change the narrative that the government is not doing enough.

As rumors of the impending cabinet reshuffle spread, many Nigerians and political analysts are waiting to see which ministers will remain and who might be replaced. The move is expected to have a significant impact on the administration’s direction moving forward.
