Living By God’s Present Word

Published

on

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out ABUNDANTLY, and the congregation drank, and their BEASTS also.

Numbers 20:11.

Despite the fact that Moses caused the people to have ABUNDANT water to the extent that even their animals were satisfied, yet, in the standard of God, His servant had failed.

What a shocker!

That one is flourishing and his servants, BEASTS of carriage are shining does not mean God’s approval.

The failure apparently was cos Moses did not honour God by speaking to the Rock, he chose the pathway he knew, his experience of yore, how he got it before, instead of the new and living way of what God is saying today.

Many of us live by tradition,  by our experience and not by acting in faith.

Life presents new and different challenges along the way that require us to act in faith.

Whether an old or a new challenge, we will overcome by taking heed to what God is saying to us at any particular time and not by referencing old experiences, traditions or acting in the flesh.

Moses who had triumphed gloriously through acting on God’s word was at this point blinded by anger and maybe depression.

Beloved, at the beginning of another week may God guide and guard you to overcome your own challenges through God’s present word.

You can learn more at a gathering of God’s people somewhere near you today. Dear, go.

Good Day
