Orlu Elders Should Settle Uzodimma-Okorocha Quarrel- Bishop Okeke

The Bishop of the Diocese of Ideato Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Henry Okeke Diocese has enjoined stakeholders and elders in particular from Orlu to settle Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Senator Okorocha.

The bishop made the appeal on the claim that the face-off between the two men was turning into a distraction for the people of the state.

He also appealed to the two not to allow their paths that may have crossed somewhere outside Imo State to affect the people of the state that have experienced peace.

“As a spiritual father, my candid advise will be for the former Governors Rocha’s Okorocha and the incumbent Governor Uzodimma, should please help our state, Imo State and avoid the ongoing crisis between them, because crisis does not develop anywhere.

“It will also be nice for the stake holders particularly the elders of the communities where they come from, to invite sons Uzodimma and Okorocha to a meeting to actually dig into what the problems are and how to resolve them,” Bisoph Okeke said.

“We sometimes sympathize with the followers, innocent electorates and citizens who does not know secrets behind the fightings of the elephants.

“Sometimes it is not all the things we see, read in the newspapers papers and watch on the televisions that are the realities, there are so many things people do not know and how they started when politicians fight, you only see fight going on in the media, but the genesis you may not know.

“Sometimes when two people are quarreling you cannot say exactly why they are quelling, because nobody was there with them when the quarrel started. They may have crossed their path in different places but, when they come to the state, you think it is a matter of rule of law and matter fighting for the people, but whatever the case may be, I think they need to be appealed to, to resolve their differences to allow the state grow, the peopke cannot bear the burden of their path that crossed somewhere else.

Noting how Okorocha could make up with Uzodimma, Bishop Okeke said:

“Secondly, if what the state government is presenting as going against the state law, the state policy in terms of development, is the reality, I think Senator Rochas Okorocha should be humble enough to abide by the rule of law, because he has stayed on the seat of the Governor and also wanted people to obey the law during that time.

“And if for any reason he, Okorocha has built on another property that was not supposed to be a personal property, he should be able to abide by the rule of law and be able to listen to the government to see what can be done about resolving the issue.”
