Obaseki On The Spot As Senate Directs Him To Issue Fresh Proclamation

In direct alignment with the decision of the House of Representatives over the crisis rocking the Edo State House of Assembly, the Senate has ordered Governor Godwin Obaseki to issue a fresh proclamation letter for the inauguration of the Edo House of Assembly within one week.

The upper legislative chamber, on Tuesday unanimously ordered that the governor should re-issue the fresh proclamation letter, following the crisis rocking the house assembly after 9 law makers were said to have been inaugurated at the first instance of the Governor proclamation letter.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan in giving the directive noted that  the legislative chamber was not in a rush to take over the activities of the state legislature.

This decision of the Senate followed the resolution of the House of Representatives on July 17th, 2019 following a motion of urgency moved by Julius Ihonvbere on the crisis rocking the state assembly.
