Igbinedion Lauds Orbih, Ikimi Collaboration To Wrest Edo From APC
Former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion has commended Chief Dan Orbih, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former foreign affairs minister, Chief Tom Ikimi for putting behind them past issues in the collective effort of winning the state in the forthcoming governorship election.
Igbinedion spoke at a meeting of party elders in Abuja where the leaders also vowed to join efforts in ensuring that the PDP wins the state.
At the meeting on Monday hosted by Ikimi, Orbih debunked insinuations that he was against the efforts of concerned leaders towards the strategic strengthening of the party aimed at regaining its winning ways in Edo State. The PDP State Chairman debunked the purported suspension of some very senior members of the party by some misguided elements and described it as a joke taken too far. He however informed the meeting that appropriate disciplinary action has been taken against all those involved.
Chief Dan Orbih sued for peace and collaboration to move the party forward in Edo State.
Igbinedion who presided, commended Orbih and Ikimi for their resolve to put behind them whatever differences that they may have had and work together for the higher interest of the party in Edo State.
The meeting unanimously endorsed the enthronement of a strong and united leadership for the party ahead of the upcoming Edo State Gubernatorial elections in 2020. The leaders expressed their strong commitment to the PDP and were optimistic of winning the 2020 Governorship Election in Edo State.
Other leaders that were present at the meeting included Sen. Victor Oyofo, Senator Yisa Braimah, former Minister of Works, Dr (Arc.) Mike Onolememen, Tunde Akogun, Dr. (Hon.) Willie Ogbeide, and High Chief (Dr.) Raymond Dokpesi.
