The deputy governor of Kogi State, Comrade Edward Onoja has denied falling out with Governor Yahaya Bello saying that not even Satan with all his strategies can divide the two of them.

Onoja, spoke in an exclusive interview with GreenWhiteGreen following insinuations of a rift between the pair. The insinuations were further fueled by the deputy governor’s decision to enroll in a school programme, supposedly as a way of occupying himself in the face of what some alleged as a result of lack of activity for him in the second term.

Asserting that the relationship with Governor Bello goes beyond the political frame, Onoja said:

“My boss and I are perfectly okay and doing great for Kogi State. Let those opposition (gullibles) allow us to serve our people. Even Satan himself can’t create animosity between my boss and I. We are Siamese Twins. We are family not a political acquaintance.

“Kogi people should not panic, our leader, His Excellency assured us and I believe that we shall come out better, stronger and more secured.

Dismissing insinuations that he has been left barren in the second term, he said he is heading the Kogi COVID-19 and Lassa Fever Squadron Committee.

“My role is to assist my principal to achieve his vision for Kogi. I am doing that job perfectly and he entrusts critical tasks to my supervision. I believe God in helping me meet his expectations.

We are doing good for and by our people. Who knows who will see tomorrow? Can you say for certainty? Why talk 2023

“Nigerians should pray for leaders not assume worst of them,” he said.

“There is no COVID-19 case in Kogi. I chair the COVID-19 and Lassa Fever Squadron Committee. Same as the Post COVID-19 Economic recovery and Development Committee.

On his political future which had been insinuated to be now clouded, Onoja said: “Let them leave the future to God.

“We are doing good for and by our people. Who knows who will see tomorrow? Can you say for certainty? Why talk 2023.”
