Scorn, Support For Trump After COVID-19 Result

Mockery laced with merciful well wishes have greeted the news that U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife, Melina have tested positive for coronavirus.
Making the announcement via his verified Twitter handle, Trump wrote “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”
The White House physician said Trump and Melania were “both well at this time.”
Hours after the Trump’s COVID-19 infection broke out the reaction was met with mixed reactions.
Some Americans took to the microblogging platform, Twitter to make mockery of Trump, arguing that Trump had refused to take the pandemic serious, while calling it names like the “Chinese virus, China plague and Democratic hoax.”
In the wake of this, several internet memes have been created to dig at Trump, due to his relegation of the effect of the virus.
Trump’s critics shared video clips of the recent presidential debate in which the president was seen attacking Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate for always putting on facemask.
During the debate, Trump chided Biden for putting on masks too often.
While those who mocked Trump’s COVID-19 status were challenged by some of his supporters and sympathizers. Still some others dug out out a video recording of a 2016 event where Trump was seen making jest of Hillary Clinton when she was down with pneumonia as they used it as an argument to support their mockery of the president.
Trump has been heavily criticized by some experts, especially those in the opposition for his handling of the coronavirus that has killed over 200,000 Americans.
Amid the backlash, some world leaders have wished the American president quick recovery from the virus.
