Sule Lamido has said that Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu will soon fall apart and that the president would not support the former Lagos State governor to succeed him. According to Lamido, Buhari will not support Tinubu because of unexplained issues between the two of them.

The former Foreign Affairs spokesman and governor of Jigawa State said that the crisis between Buhari and Tinubu would lead to the break-up of the APC.

“Truth of the matter very soon there would be no APC in Nigeria because it’s made up of two persons Buhari and Tinubu”

“And I swear to God Buhari will not support Tinubu as candidate in the coming 2023 general election.”

“So since they are the leaders of APC and they have issues everyone will find his way and that would be the end of APC in Nigeria.”

Lamido, however, did not explain the issues between Buhari and Tinubu.

He spoke against the background of continuing misgivings between supporters of Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition and elements in the presidency who are said to be backing rival aspirants to succeed Buhari.

No reason has been given for the perceived indifference or opposition of the Buhari inner circus to the assumed aspiration of Tinubu who was a major force in mobilizing support for Buhari’s emergence as candidate and president in 2015.

Lamido while stressing that Buhari will not support Tinubu, nevertheless cautioned that the PDP has to unite for victory despite the envisaged breakup of the APC.

“We also have our own problems and it is either we correct or Nigerians would continue to suffer”

“We must forget all our grievances, set aside all our personal interest for us to win because it’s only PDP that can be able to rule this country” he stated.

Lamido also appealed to reconciliation committee to be just and fair in their approach to aggrieved member, while aggrieved members are to put the party before their interest.
