Second Term: Uzodimma Wins Imo APC Guber Ticket

The Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has warned Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State against what it claimed were the governor’s plans to use seen and unseen hands to take over the state for the All Progressives Congress, APC. “Anambra not Imo,” the PDP warned Uzodinma on Saturday.

The Anambra State chairman of the PDP, Mr Ndubuisi Nwobu, in a sharp riposte on Saturday warned Uzodinma that Anambra people were well prepared to check whatever plot the APC and Uzodinma would play to take the state.

Uzodinma had during the recent meeting of APC stakeholders in Awka held to energise party faithful for the Anambra governorship election said that forces would be deployed to do battle to take over the state.

But responding on Saturday, the PDP through Nwobu said:

“APC is crumbling at the national and someone is coming to Anambra, saying he will use seen and unseen forces to take Anambra. Someone should go and warn the Supreme Court governor in Imo State that Anambra is not Imo,” the party chief said.

He spoke while receiving a governorship aspirant, Rep. Chris Azubogu who visited the party secretariat to intimate officials of his interest in the contest.

Anambra Not Imo, Uzodinma warned

Responding to Uzodinma, the party chairman continued:

“He may be banking on using the court, but we must let him understand that the people he knows in high places, Anambra people also know them. This is not the state where he can come to make such boasts,” Nwobu warned.

Azubogu, who represents Nnewi North, South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on his part said:

“We must take Anambra and begin to bring growth and development again to the state. I will work to ensure PDP wins. I have considered my aspiration. It won’t be an easy journey, but I can tell you that whoever takes the ticket and carries all along must win.”
