Uzodimma Sacks Aides, Wishes Them Well

Governor Hope Uzodimma has sacked all aides designated as Special Assistants, SAs and Senior Special Assistants, SSAs in a bid towards strengthening the delivery of his administration’s objectives.

The governor’s decision was conveyed to the aides at a valedictory meeting at the Government House, Owerri, on Friday.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the governor had earlier sacked 20 of the 26 commissioners in his cabinet.

A communique from the Government House on the development quoted the governor as wishing the former aides well in their endeavours even as he charged them to continue to espouse the ideals of his government.

The communique read thus:

In a bid to rejig and strengthen the performance of his administration ,the  imo state Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma earlier today  dissolved his team of special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.

The Governor, who announced the dissolution during a meeting at the goverment house, appreciated his former Aides for their services to the state.

Speaking shortly after the dissolution, the  commisioner for information and strategy , Chief Declan Emeluba disclosed that the dissolution was necessitated by the recommendations of the committee set up to appraise the performance of each SA and SSA and possibly give way for robust leadership and optimum service delivery.

The dissolution is coming barely a month after 20 out of the 28 Commissioners were relieved of their positions.

Gov Hope Uzodimma urged former members of his expanded exco to continue to work for the betterment of the state , adding that his administration is committed to deliver on its campaign promises to the people.
