The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has promised to make a pronouncement on the quest for power shift to Delta Central in 2023.

Dr. Uduaghan made his promise when he received Delta Central governorship canvassers under the aegis of Delta Collective Assembly (DCA),  a pressure group in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The visit by the group was part of the group’s consultation to garner support for rotational governorship in the state in favour of Delta Central Senatorial District as Governor Ifeanyi Okowa completes the turn of Delta North.

Addressing members of the group, former Governor Uduaghan commended DCA for the visit, saying he will continue to support efforts that will maintain the relative peace and unity in the state.

On the rotation of the State governorship seat, Dr. Uduaghan said there was a template that gave the PDP easy victories in past elections, and said he would make a formal pronouncement on the issue at the right time.

He commended the DCA for its state wide composition, with vibrant grassroot players from the twenty-five LGAs of the State.

Whatever Dr. Uduaghan says on the issue of power shift to Delta Central is expected to be interpreted along political lines given his experience in the PDP in the immediate past.

Stakeholders observe that the rivalry to Delta Central is from the Ijaw in Uduaghan’s Delta South Senatorial District.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the Ijaw were instrumental to the political blemish in the political record of Uduaghan as the combination of Senator James Manager and Tompolo worked to undermine the last day political gyrations of Uduaghan in his last days in office.

Uduaghan is not expected to cavort to the music of the Ijaw for rotation along ethnic lines as doing so would be to the advantage of Senator Manager his political rival who defeated him in the 2019 Delta South Senate election when he stood on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

However,  GreenWhiteGreen GWG understands that there is an understanding between some Itsekiri and Ijaw for the Itsekiri to get the Senate ticket if the Ijaw get the governorship.
