Wantaway Kane Excited By Conte’s Appointment As Spurs Boss

Harry Kane is ‘very excited’ to begin working under Antonio Conte after the Italian was appointed Tottenham’s new head coach on Tuesday.

Conte succeeds Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked after just 17 games in charge and becomes Spurs’ third permanent boss in three years.

The former Juventus and Chelsea boss joins on a deal until the summer of 2023 with an option for a further year, and Football London understands that his appointment has impressed want-away Kane.

The England captain was desperate to leave Spurs in the summer amid interest from Manchester City, but the club stood firm and he remained in north London.

However, Kane is understood to be ‘very excited’ and ‘absolutely thrilled’ to work with Conte, while he is also impressed at the level of ambition shown to bring him to Tottenham.

The striker has yet to find his feet in the Premier League this season, scoring just one goal in nine games, but Conte’s arrival could spark Spurs’ campaign into life.

Like Kane, the rest of the Tottenham dressing room are keen on implementing a new style of football under Conte.
