Bound Unidentified Male Corpse Recovered From River In Kwara

An unidentified male body was recovered by officers of the Kwara State Fire Service from the Asa river in Ilorin, the state capital.

The victim when removed from the river was discovered to have had his hands tied behind him, while his head was also covered with a piece of clothing.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the PRO Hassan Adekunle which was made available to journalists.

Excerpts from the statement read, “The incident occurred Today, 15th November 2021 at about 14:40hrs, when one Mr. Olamilekan suddenly summoned the Brigade to the scene of occurrence.

“Most importantly, our officers were able to remove the body from the river and later handed over to one Superintendent Ajape of Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command.

“The shocking aspect of the incident was that the casualty hands were tied together and his head too was covered by some tattered wrappers.”

“Presently, no concrete evidence has been found as regards the cause of this terrible incident.

Therefore, The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa urged everyone to be more careful about their day to day activities in order to prevent similar occurrences”
