Breaking: Deborah Yakubu Buried Amid Lamentations

The remains of Deborah Yakubu, the second year student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto who was burnt to death in Sokoto last Thursday after she protested the use of her class WhatsApp forum for religious purposes have been buried.

She was buried sometime around 6.30 p.m. in her hometown, Tunga Magajiya, in Rijau local government area of Niger State.

According to reports, tears flowed freely as the remains of the young lady was laid to rest. Relations, well wishers lamented as Deborah Yakubu was buried at the Christian cemetery in Tunga Magaiya.

Those who witnessed it especially lamented the way she was killed by her supposed fellow students.

It was gathered that her Her family was determined on proceeding with the getting Deborah Yakubu buried despite protest by youths of Tunga Magaiya who felt that the Sokoto State Government should take responsibility for the burial.

The burial was undertaken by the pastor of ECWA in Tunga Magajiya, Emmanuel Maaji, who is also an uncle to the deceased Deborah Yakubu. He led the prayers at the cemetery before she was lowered to mother earth.

Earlier, GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that before Deborah Yakubu was buried that the Sokoto State Government had made moves to stop the burial on the claim that the body was still needed for investigations but the family rebuffed the move
