Your ageing can be slowed down or increased by the daily choices you make or habits you pander to. Everything we do, including what we consume, how much we workout, and how we feel, can affect how quickly we age. Here are four lifestyles or habits that make ageing come faster..

Smoking

Many people indulge in smoking without knowing the damage effect to the body. Smoking, as we all know, is bad for the health and makes you appear older than you actually are. It can seriously harm your well-being and cause outward signs of aging. It damages and accelerates the aging process of the skin and the wear and tear of different parts of the body.

Always consuming sweet things

Foods high in sodium, sugar, poor cholesterol, and saturated fats might make the body more prone to inflammation.  Sometimes when you can’t help but want sugary nutrition bars or can’t seem to get enough of sugary breakfast cereals, you’re ageing yourself in more ways.

Sitting all days

Long durations of sitting have been linked to slow blood flow, trouble controlling sugar levels, and high levels of cholesterol all of which are risk factors for age-related disorders. Indeed, this is one of the notorious habits that make ageing come faster for many people.

Crash dieting

Embarking on crash dieting just to quickly drop weight is not good for the skin and can speed up aging; Crash dieting can also cause wrinkles and sagging because aging skin, which has less elasticity, doesn’t have time to adjust to the weight loss.

Weight management is important for good health, but don’t try to lose more than one or two pounds a week for doing otherwise would on the contrary if it becomes a habit could make ageing come faster.

Having a grudge

Learning how to let go and forgive may add years to one’s life and make the years a lot more productive. Studies show that forgiveness leads to better physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Benefits of such a habit include lower blood pressure, less depression, less stress, and less anxiety.
